Tribal Style Belly Dance with Bonnie Margay!

Tuesdays 6:30 pm: American Tribal Style (ATS) and Tribal Fusion Belly Dance

Culture Shock Dance Center
2110 Hancock Street, Suite 200
San Diego CA 92110

American Tribal Style (ATS) Belly Dance is a modern style of dance created by Fat Chance Belly Dance director, Carolena Nericcio. ATS is an eclectic blend of classic Egyptian, Folkloric, Flamenco, and Indian influences that uses specific cues, combinations, formations and nonverbal communication to create brilliant improvisational dancing. It was such an honor to train with Carolena herself at the FatChance studios in San Francisco for my certification! Please bring water, finger cymbals and something fun to tie around your hips.

Also offering Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Drills: I have passionately studied with the finest performers and instructors on earth, and am so excited to bring you the highlights of all of the information I have gathered over the years. We will focus on everything it takes to have the finest possible posture, arms, strength, balance, and technique. I will also sneak in my favorite bits of hard-to-find information about belly dance history, ethics, events and resources. Please bring water and a notebook.

Pictured here in the Fat Chance Belly Dance Studio Store and Resource Center, Bonnie Margay Burke dove headlong into her creative dreams in American Tribal Style (ATS) Belly Dance and Tribal Fusion Belly Dance in 2005. She has studied intensively with the finest performers and instructors in the world almost every day since then, including Mira Betz, Kami Liddle, Heather Stants, Mardi Love, Frédérique, Rachel Brice, Carolena Nericcio, Zoe Jakes, and her gorgeous dance mama, Sabrina Fox. Bonnie loves offering private instruction for timid beginners as well as experienced students looking to improve their technique. Her passion for learning is an extraordinary blessing that transforms the experience for everyone involved. She is thrilled to professionally assist the brilliant workshops and intensives of the exquisite Frédérique of Belly Groove fame and the incomparable Rachel Brice of The Indigo Dance Company. She has assisted with workshops and intensives throughout California, as well as in Nevada, Costa Rica, and the south coast of France.
